CRC Music, which came into existence in mid 1993, serves as the refuge to self-produce music under the record label name Compression Records. Back then, the studio was a bedroom and the label was just a name to cover that aspect of the first album in a presentable form.

By 1996, the studio moved, but continued to serve as the production end of Still Inertia's music from the (then shabby) studio.

In 1999, the studio had expanded to a floor in a two floor apartment. With helpful contributions, assistance, trust and support, Gooding and J. Davis had contributed greatly to Compression Records with upgrades to the studio's equipment, including a MiniDisc deck, real-time CD burning unit, and a Roland VS-480EX digital workstation - whiched helped with expansion and newfound encouragement to continue doing what Compression Records and Still Inertia strive to do best: Keep making music.

By 2000, with the advent of the Internet going commercial in 1995, the record label became a website (incorporated with Jason Kraley's site) and continued to exist as an entity for promoting work from its only "signed artist". This was also the same year that the word "Cleveland" was added for legality/confusion avoidance purposes. Thus most of the digital work that was sold was under Compression Records Cleveland. The name helped remind a few others in the community that there is some effort musically going on in places like Cleveland, Ohio.

In 2004, the name was compressed (ironically) to the name CRC Music for online purposes (in the spirit of eliminating geographic dependency online). CRC Music won't forget its origins... (that last C will always stand for Cleveland) but it strives to be more than just a label to produce Still Inertia only. (Currently in 2006, CRC Music now exists in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.)

It is Jason Kraley's intent to let CRC Music not only represent Still Inertia, but grow, work with, and evolve while ever-expanding a network of colleagues and friends whom appreciate creativity for the sake of creativity. CRC Music has witnessed the first collaborative effort with its colleague record label MadNote Productions' own Mike Williams and CRC's Jason Kraley with the "Touched" CD (released 2004). CRC Music can now serve to help other people network to help each other out on a "local" level. If artists work together, they can all network as colleagues and simultaneously promote and distribute their collaborations across all sites involved. There is a great, undiscovered secret world of wonderful local and global music out there not being promoted and heard properly. CRC Music hopes to change that.

The mainstream music industry
isn't future-proof.

CRC Music is a subsidiary of Kraley Productions, and represents, not only CRC Music as a label, but also opens its arms out to support, help, and work with trusted artists, musicians, magicians and all-around gurus in areas of their creativity specialties that have become The Colleagues of CRC Music. They are people who have worked with Still Inertia and/or CRC Music at some point with continually evolving, positive results and relations. Definitely take some time and check out our colleagues and their sites; they may be able to work with you and possibly help you with your fellow artistic endeavors. Whether it is video assistance, soundtrack compositions, collaborations, live performance work, distributors and retailers, musical support, recording engineers, studios, audio/visual packaging design, production, et cetera, perhaps as the colleagues partnerships expand to more colleagues, CRC Music might become the catalyst to spark a friendship-based, cross-locally supportive, "globally local" empire of humans who recognize the drive to create.

Doubleplusgood.

The Network is a list of people, studios, stores, other labels, organizations and anyone else who has something positive to offer the community - especially the community of creativity (artists, musicians, filmmakers, writers, photographers) and their enthusiastic supporters (locally and globally). The idea of creating a list of links is simple, really: An independent musician needs a friendly printing company for a CD; a fellow freelance writer needs a photographer; a local independent filmmaker needs a soundtrack from independent musicians... et cetera. Whatever it is, we all are basically humans in need from a friend, and the Internet has now connected humans from all over the planet in a potentially positive way.
Support your "globally local" community.

Over the years, CRC Music has run into many wonderfully different, open-hearted, creative, hard-working people, doing what they love for the love of doing what they do best... and they are our local communities' best kept secrets. The CRC Network will be a list of those best kept secrets: those whom CRC Music has personally worked with or have gotten a high recommendation from a trusted friend in the Network... and anyone who supports this concept of CRC Music's Network.

If you would like to find out more about the Network, have a suggestion of something or someone to be added, or if you simply support what we do (and would like either your name connected to an email address or a website address) then please contact jasonkraley@gmail.com
